Cynthia H. Breunig
Chief Executive Officer and President
Cynthia became President and CEO of the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council in 2011. She is a Gold Award Girl Scout and credits Girl Scouts with establishing her leadership and business skills. Her passion for the arts, which began with Girl Scout field trips to museums; and her Girl Scout service work with under-resourced communities opened her heart and mind to the needs of children -- our most vulnerable citizens. Under Cynthia’s leadership, the Council has achieved financial stability in the face of the devastating COVID pandemic and taken the lead nationally in reaching out to girls from diverse backgrounds and Hispanic communities. With support of the Board of Directors, GSSGC purchased Camp Skyland Ranch in late 2016 and Cynthia is proud that our Council became its stewards for generations to come.
Before joining GSSGC, Cynthia served for 13 years as President and CEO of Inner-City Arts in the heart of Los Angeles’ Skid Row, and enjoyed a 25-year career in museum management, opening what is today the Autry National Center in 1988. Cynthia holds advanced degrees in Museum Studies and Education Administration, and attended Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Executive Education Program and the international Getty Leadership Institute.
