Why Do We Do a Fall Product Program?
The Fall Product Program is the beginning platform for the Girl Scout entrepreneurial program. Money Management, Business Ethics, People Skills, Marketing and Goal Setting are the five core skills every girl will use throughout her life. We begin teaching these skills with our Fall Product Program.
This Program allows troops to earn the funds needed to run their troop prior to the Cookie Program, while helping girls build their confidence. It helps new troops with start-up cash, and existing troops to provide field trips. Troops can purchase crafts and programming supplies, and older girl troops can make needed deposits for their big summer outings and travel. The Fall Product Program enables troops to get an early start on reaching their GOALS!
In addition, the Fall Product Program helps girls to build self-esteem! They learn that they can set a goal, budget the costs, create a marketing plan and then go out and make it happen. It teaches girls valuable
life-lessons, and to believe in themselves. With the help of their leaders, parents and guardians, girls learn that they can do anything that they set their minds to. They establish a ‘CAN DO’ philosophy that will carry them throughout their lives.
