Middle and high schools girls from Girl Scout troops in San Bernardino and Riverside counties are learning about cyber security at a pair of summer camps at Cal State San Bernardino. The GenCyber summer camps are being held in partnership with the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio. The week-long camp for high school students begins Monday, while the one for middle school students wraps up today, according to Cal State San Bernardino. About 200 middle school girls and 50 high school girls are taking part. The camps generated a lot of interest, said Tony Coulson, a professor in the CSUSB Information and Decision Sciences Department and director of the CSUSB Cyber Security Center. Enrollment was filled within 24 hours. The scouts are learning how to hack drones, secure passwords, explore cyber forensics, practice internet safety, play cyber capture the flag, learn team building skills on a high ropes course and more, according to the university.
