DESCRIPTIONS:

Art & Nature

  • Age:  Entering 2nd - 12th grade
  • Cost:  $400

Being outside in nature is a great way to spark your creativity. Some of our greatest works of art are inspired by nature—from early on, cave people drew pictures of sunsets, the sky, animals, and trees. Get ready to observe and collect things outdoors that will drive your art and creativity— from colors and patterns to landscapes and wildlife.  Get inspired by nature and create your own art masterpiece as you explore nature with the Skyland Ranch Team.  Extend your experience by staying for Skylands Got Talented.  Share your artistic talents from this camp as you let your creative juices countinue to flow with sound in the next session.

Horse Camp

  • Age:  Entering 4th - 12th grade
  • Cost:  $500
  • To register for advanced horse camp girls need to have at least 2 years of Girl Scout horse camp or take riding lessons at home.

Enjoy time horsin’ around with the horses, other campers, and our riding staff becoming more confident in your ability while developing lasting friendships and learning the fundamentals of riding and horse care.  Learn about saddling, grooming, feeding, basic horse care and riding skills.  Riding ability determines participation in certain activities.  The Riding Staff is comprised of horse lovers from all over the world eager to share their knowledge with campers. Emphasis in all programs is on Western Style instruction, ring work and horse care.  Some of the fun activities include gymkhana, an overnight experience, teaching others, washing/bathing horses, and of course riding and grooming.  All activities are weather permitting.  Campers are placed in groups with their buddy according to their shared horse experience.
