Rafting Plus for Khaki Crew
Cadette, Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts plus Girl Scout Alumni are inviited.
A perfect way to spend the summer! We will be rafting the South Fork of the American River which is the most popular river in California, and for good reason. It is an exciting class 3 rapids alternate with calm stretches for practicing new skills or enjoying a swim. Cascading its way from the Sierras and flowing through the town of Coloma, where gold was discovered in 1848, the river tumbles through beautiful scenery rich with history and wildlife. After your rafting adventure, enjoy volleyball, horseshoes, gold panning and excellent fishing. Or, simply relax along the river at the rafting company’s secluded camp complete with an outdoor dining area, restrooms, hot showers and changing facilities.
The rafting trip is a full day of driving, 1 full day and a 1/2 day on the river, and a leisure drive home over 2 days with some optional excursions (girls will have a few options to vote and choose from).
This trip will be led by trained and background screened Girl Scout adult trip leaders.
Transportation is included or you may drive yourself.
Pick up is from the Redlands office.
Meals on the way to and from are included (bring money to buy snacks at the rest stop/souveneirs/photos).
