Join GSSGC on a trip to the Birthplace of Girl Scouts in Savannah Georgia. Experience southern charm and exquisite architecture of Savannah, one of the oldest cities in America. Walk in Juliette's footsteps as we explore the city's rich history discovering hidden gardens and waterfront experiences. This is a planned trip but input is welcome. Meaning if you have something you would really like to do and the budget can handle the cost then the trip planner will make it happen. The trip inlcudes a visit to the birthplace, an experience in Atlanta visiting the Georgia Aquarium (check it out on Animal Planet), CocaCola Museum, Martin Luther King Historical Park, ghost tour of Savnnah, a Marine experience, Undergroud Railroad Experience, and lots more history and really good Sourthn food and shopping of course.
This trip is for Older Girl Scouts and their friends. This includes girls in 6th-12th grade, current Girl Scout adults and alumni. Registration is required prior to the trip. The flight days/times will be based on cost and planning needs. This means we might take a redeye which would leave Friday or Saturday night and get in early the next day or spend an entire day traveling.
Still considering? Think about the experience and eating creole beignets on the riverfront - yummy doughy surgary goodness. This trip will be fun for all. To get the most out of your experience consider reading Lady from Savannah: The Life of Juliette Low. Although if you aren't a reader no fear you will love the experience even if the only thing you know upon arrival is that it is the town where Juliette said "I've got something for the girls of Savannah, and all of America, and all the world, and we're going to start it tonight!"
