Directions: After your site reservation has been confirmed, you
will receive a map and directions from the central service center. You may
contact the properties department (909) 307-6555 x242.
Facilities:
Lodge:
Large room with a fireplace and a loft with a bathroom and shower.
There is also an attached, but separate commercial kitchen and
bathroom. The kitchen is equipped
with gas ranges, ovens, food preparation areas, refrigerators and freezers.
Bonnet House:
Four bedrooms with bunkbeds and two bathrooms with showers.
Pill
Box:
Small living room, a kitchen area with gas range and refrigerator, a bedroom
with two sets of bunkbeds and a bathroom with a shower.
Outdoor Sites:
There are six outdoor sites available - Singing Brook, Skylark, Distant Pines,
Soboba, Rustic and CIT Unit. All
have restrooms with showers.
Parking is allowed only in designated areas.
Please, back your cars into parking area, this is a requirement of the
U.S. Forest Service fire restrictions. Please,
do not drive to the campsites.
Campfires: Campfires can be built only in ESTABLISHED Fire
Rings. You must bring your own fire
wood. Established fire rings
have a hose, rake and shovel at each fire ring.
Make sure that all fires are completely out before leaving camp and are
cold to the touch. Do not make
your own fire rings. Do not place
hot ashes on any combustible surface. Adult
Supervision is required for all campfires.
Trash: All trash must be taken off the premises.
Take it home with you. There
is no trash pickup. Please, do not
leave trash at the site. There are
two trash bins just off the dirt road above the Dark Canyon Camp ground.
Trash may be dumped in these bins if space is available.
Do not leave trash or pile trash around the outside of the bins animals
will scatter it through out the area. The
cleaning deposit will only be refunded if the site is thoroughly cleaned.

Equipment at site: Bring your own firewood, your own
cooking equipment, dishes and supplies including toilet paper.
If using the lodge some cooking utensils are available.
Program possibilities: Hiking, nature study, camp
crafts, star gazing at night on the West Hill, or just
enjoying the beauty surrounding you! Hikes
to Mt. San Jacinto, little round valley and the Palm Springs tram are possible.

use only. There is also a pay phone
located behind the lodge. The

also a pay phone at Alandale Ranger Station on Highway #243.
Property related Emergencies: In an emergency, call the Council
office at 1-800-400-4475 Monday through Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and
Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on weekends or after hours call the Emergency
On Call Person pager number at (800)
581-0516, at the beep, enter your number and touch # sign and hang-up.
In the event of a property maintenance problem at the site call the site
maintenance ranger pager number at (909) 721-8456, at the beep, enter your
number and touch # sign and hang-up.
